Marks Architects, Inc. seeks full-time Associate for work at 2643 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103. Position details:

JOB DUTIES: Under the supervision of a licensed architect, manage preparation of architectural construction documents for commercial building projects. This includes:

• Assess nature of project via discussion with architect.
• Create technical diagrams of proposed commercial buildings and systems within the buildings.
• Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on engineering calculations and spec sheets. Drawings must include instructions regarding how project should look, how it should be built, and materials to be used.
• Analyze technical implications of architect’s design concept, calculating weights, volumes and stress factors.
• Assess quantity of materials required.
• Model the shape and dimensions of proposed buildings, including internal heating, piping and electrical systems.
• Use AutoCAD to perform aforementioned duties in design of commercial buildings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Architecture (5-year degree) or foreign equivalent and 24 months (2 years) of experience in any occupations in which required experience was gained. Experience must include:

• 2 years of post-bachelor’s experience in commercial architecture.
• 2 years of experience using AutoCAD to design commercial buildings.

SALARY OFFERED: From $89,752 per year
